Suicidal thoughts –People who have thoughts that you would be better off dead or thoughts of hurting yourself in some way.

Homicidal thoughts – People who have thoughts of killing another person(s).

Dissociation – People who dissociate may forget things or have gaps in their memory (not due to alcohol or drug use).  Sometimes, they have an out-of-body experience or they feel like they are a different person.  They may have little or no pain.  Sometimes they experience tunnel vision or they have intense flashbacks that feel real.  They can experience rapid mood swings.  A person who dissociates might feel like they are not connected to their body or that they have different identities.  Sometimes they feel disconnected from the world around them or lose control of their own body movements.

Psychosis – People who have psychosis, have sensory experiences that feel real but they are not based in reality.  These people may experience hallucinations and/or delusions.  This means that they might see things or hear things that aren’t actually there.  They can seem disorganized in their thoughts, speech, or behaviours. 

Hallucinations - People who hallucinate can hear or see or feel things that don’t exist.  The person might hear voices talking to each other or they may think the voices are telling them to do something.  They might also see things that others don’t see.  Sometimes they might have a tactile hallucination.  For example, they might feel like something is under their skin.

Delusions - People who have delusions, have beliefs in something that isn’t based in reality, that is, beliefs in something that isn’t true.  People who have delusions can’t tell what is real and what is imagined.  People might have different types of delusions.  For example, delusions might appear to be bizarre and clearly impossible or they may be delusions that could be possible but they are not likely.  Delusions may be categorized into different types of themes, for example, supernatural or science-fiction, or excessive pride, etc.
